Autumn Season on Sale

The º£½ÇÂÒÂ×¹Ù·½ is delighted to announce its new Autumn Season, which includes the launch of two brand-new programme series.
Performed by the RCM Philharmonic, the exciting new series takes audiences on a symphonic journey of classical favourites across six concerts, featuring famous works such as The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Dukas and The Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky, plus symphonies by Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart and concertos by Martinů and Tchaikovsky.
The RCM is also pleased to introduce a new, free lecture series this autumn entitled Music and Ideas, which offers the chance to hear expert speakers exploring a variety of fascinating musical topics, putting musical issues into the wider context of the arts and society.
These two new series are exciting additions to the RCM’s wide-ranging programme of more than 100 concerts, masterclasses and participatory events taking place at the RCM every season.
Just some of the internationally celebrated performers visiting the conservatoire this autumn include pianist , horn player , violinists and , and mezzo soprano y. Renowned baritone returns to the RCM to give an unmissable performance of Walton’s Façade, with fellow RCM alumni Sally Burgess and Tim Murray.
Other highlights across a packed season include a first visit by the dynamic Slovakian conductor , who will direct the RCM Symphony Orchestra in a performance on Mahler’s epic . Outstanding soloists from our vocal and opera department will join the RCM Chorus and Symphony Orchestra for a hommage to , featuring works by Rossini, Verdi and Mascagni and culminating in a performance of Puccini’s youthful and exuberant Messa di Gloria.
The unequalled tradition of composition at the RCM will be celebrated this autumn with , which features performances of works from current RCM students, RCM professors and our illustrious alumni.
